In 1994, Irvine pharmaceutical factory in California added a new Centaur 40 gas turbine cogeneration equipment, which can produce 3.5MW of electricity. It is running in parallel with the original 2.8MW Centaur 40 unit in the plant. The original 40 unit has been running for 66000 hours since its installation in October 1981.The original 8165 kg / h unsaturated steam is increased to 18144 kg / h saturated steam after the additional gas turbine is equipped with afterburning HRSG. This cogeneration equipment can meet the basic electricity and heat demand of the whole pharmaceutical plant. By February 2003, the gas turbine had operated for more than 212000 hours.
